kmdesigns is a woman-owned company that makes decorative pillows for contemporary decor. Every pillow is crafted by hand from start to finish by Katherine MacColl, an award-winning fiber artist with over 10 years of experience designing and creating beautiful items for the home.

Pillows from kmdesigns are constructed of smooth and sturdy 100% cotton fabrics that are hand-dyed in my studio to achieve a delicious depth and variation of color. Selected hues are formed into folded strips of varying widths that are woven together to create unusual raised textures and varied geometric patterns. Each pillow front is then joined to a smoothly overlapping fabric back to hold a cambric cotton-covered feather/down pillow insert, which may easily be removed for machine washing.

With their durable construction, high-quality fabric, timeless designs, and rich color palette, the pillows of kmdesigns are unlike anything else on the market today.

About Katherine MacColl

I love pillows, and always have. My first pillow creation—a huge, emerald-green velveteen heap—satisfied my twelve-year-old soul. It lay front and center on my bed for many years, a perfect companion for hours of reading, napping, and teenage angst. In college and beyond, I continued to make pillows to complement my various living spaces and as gifts for friends and family. Ten years ago, after a career in the mental health field, I turned to fabric arts, and have now made pillows my livelihood.
